A Note From the Principal

Hello Bakersfield families,

By now I trust that you have all received and read Lynn’s school reopening letter. I also wanted to reach out and let you all know that I am here to talk through any concerns you may have and to answer questions to the best of my ability. I also encourage you to use the  email to submit questions to the SU, as well as participate in the town hall meetings that you will be invited to soon.

As a part of Lynn’s letter, there was a link to a parent survey. Please take the time to fill this out as soon as possible: Family Hybrid Survey. The deadline is July 31st. We here at BEMS will need this information in order to be able to plan effectively for this school year. I know that this all seems so strange, however, we want you to know that we are committed to working with you in order to provide the best education possible (both academically and social-emotionally), as well as a safe and healthy environment for all of our students, staff, and families. We are excited to see as many of you as possible in this new hybrid model!

I also want to take this opportunity to send out the newly adopted inter-district choice policy/procedure and application. For families that are interested in this, please read over the policy/procedure closely and make sure you return the application to Doreen Clark by August 10th.

I hope that you all are having a wonderful Summer and are enjoying the wonderful weather we have had! As we get closer to opening, we will be sending out more details about our plan and the school year in general. As I stated above, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

In a world where so much seems to be changing and shifting these days, and yet we are making plans to best serve you and your children, I leave you all with this quote for our times:

“If the plan doesn’t work, change the plan, not the goal.”  ~Unknown
